Glacier National Park Adventure Session - Madi and Fate

Writer's picture: Grace CadyGrace Cady

What is an "adventure session," you wonder?

I'm so glad you asked ;)

Only the best decision you can make for yourself when it comes to your Montana wedding photography. Maybe you’ve been dreaming of a Glacier National Park elopement that’s as unique as your love story, but you’re stressing about how your family might feel if you don’t throw a big wedding so they can celebrate with you.

Enter: The Glacier National Park Adventure Session.

Day-after (or day-before) sessions are the secret sauce for couples who want those jaw-dropping portraits without feeling rushed on their wedding day. We spend four uninterrupted hours soaking in the beauty of Glacier National Park, giving us the unique opportunity to hit multiple locations and take our time capturing their love in the most epic way possible.

The three of us had the most incredible day together, and their experience is proof that magic happens when you mix breathtaking scenery with a little bit of adventure—

and when you take your whole family out of the wedding equation for the day (wink wink.)

Starting Strong at Big Bend

We kicked off Madi and Fate’s session at Big Bend – one of Glacier’s most iconic spots and the best view on Going-to-the-Sun Road. My favorite thing about Big Bend? There really is no such thing as bad light here. Everything about this location does the work for me.

Midday Vibes at Sun Point

Next, we made our way to Sun Point, one of my most requested locations in the entire park. Plus, if reading this blog post has you thinking about throwing the whole wedding out the window and eloping instead, you can get a special use permit from the national park system and have your elopement ceremony here.

St. Mary Lake’s shimmering blues in the background are framed by 360º views of towering mountains and endless sky. If blue is your color, this is definitely your place.

Not convinced? Heres a taste of those 360 views for ya. These views are just steps away.

Wrapping Up in Many Glacier

We saved the best for last with Many Glacier. Honestly, it’s one of my favorite spots in the park and super underrated. Also, commonly and incorrectly referred to as "Mini Glacier," this area is anything but.

With its towering peaks, glassy lakes, and peaceful vibe, it’s like stepping into another world. The soft evening light was pure magic, giving every shot a golden, timeless feel. It was the perfect way to wrap up Madi and Fate’s adventure and earn their session a spot on the blog.

I do love me some Many Glacier mountains, but we can't leave out Swiftcurrent Falls:

Finally, we finished the evening off at the Many Glacier Hotel Beach. Sending off the last bit of the day's sunshine and letting these two get snuggly.

Just think: this could be YOU!

All this to say...

Weddings are important. They give you the opportunity to share your vows with ALL of your loved ones. But that doesn't mean you should have to make sacrifices when it comes to how you want your wedding day photos to look. The magic of getting married in Montana is that you have access to stunning views like these—and they deserve to be captured exactly the way you’ve envisioned! With Glacier National Park as your backdrop (and me as your photographer,) the possibilities are endless.
